THE CHALLENGE

Atelier BLG is one of Sharjah's most distinctive food experiences, a collaboration born from three partners who wanted to bring an authentic slice of French Mediterranean baking to the UAE. Nestled inside Sahara Centre, it offers hand-crafted croissants, specialty coffee, seasonal pastries, artisan bread, and colourful Mediterranean dishes made fresh each morning. The product quality is exceptional and the interior design, curated like an art studio, is genuinely photogenic.

Yet by mid-2024, the business faced a challenge that many high-quality local cafés encounter: the gap between real-world word-of-mouth and online discoverability. With around 1,600 Instagram followers and a website that offered minimal content beyond a brief brand description, Atelier BLG was effectively invisible to the thousands of food-curious residents and visitors in Sharjah's Al Nahda area who were actively searching for premium café experiences.

Existing social content was infrequent, sometimes weeks between posts, and lacked the visual consistency and storytelling that a premium brand demands. The aesthetic of the café itself, with its curated furniture, gallery walls, and open baker's counter, was barely reflected online. For a business that had invested heavily in creating a beautiful physical space, the digital representation was failing to carry that atmosphere to the audience.

Additionally, the brand was missing an opportunity to communicate its catering and corporate offerings. Atelier BLG provides bespoke catering for business brunches, office lunches, and private events, a high-value service line that was generating almost no online leads because it was essentially unmarketed.


OUR SOLUTION

We repositioned Atelier BLG's digital identity around a clear brand truth: this is not just a café, it is an experience. The word "atelier", a craftsman's workshop, gave us a rich creative platform to build from. Every piece of content we created was anchored in the idea of craftsmanship: the hands folding pastry dough, the steam rising from a fresh espresso, the brushwork of icing on a saffron cake.

We launched a dedicated content production schedule with weekly shoots inside the Sahara Centre location, capturing both the food and the atmosphere. Natural light through the large windows, the marble counter displays, the relaxed co-working energy of guests with laptops over flat whites. We worked with the team to document the baking process, creating a Reels series called "From the Atelier" that showed croissants being laminated, bread being shaped, and seasonal specials being assembled from scratch.

The Instagram grid was restructured with a warm editorial colour palette of creams, ochres, and dusty Mediterranean blues that reflected the brand's French and Mediterranean roots. Captions shifted from functional announcements to immersive micro-stories: the origin of a recipe, the inspiration behind a seasonal special, or a staff feature celebrating the team's baking expertise.

We built a dedicated landing page for corporate catering on the website with an online enquiry form, integrated WhatsApp booking, and a curated gallery of past event setups. This page was then promoted through targeted Instagram ads directed at professionals in Al Nahda, Sharjah's industrial area, and the surrounding business districts.


THE RESULT

In the first 60 days, Atelier BLG's Instagram following grew from 1,645 to over 9,200, a 460% increase driven entirely by organic content and one targeted paid campaign. The "From the Atelier" Reels series generated a combined 140,000 views and was shared extensively by UAE food content accounts, resulting in significant earned media coverage at no additional cost.

The corporate catering landing page drove 47 new catering enquiries within the first six weeks, with 23 converting to confirmed bookings, generating a new revenue stream that had previously been underdeveloped. The average order value of these corporate bookings was significantly higher than walk-in transactions, improving overall business margins.

Tables at Atelier BLG began filling up on weekday mornings, a period previously quieter, largely attributable to content that positioned the café as an ideal remote working space with exceptional coffee. Saturday brunch queues, now a regular occurrence, began to feature in customer-generated content that the brand repurposed with permission, building authentic social proof.

Atelier BLG is now regularly featured in Sharjah food guides, UAE café round-ups, and is actively sought out by visitors to Sahara Centre who discovered it through Instagram. The brand's digital presence has caught up with, and in many respects now amplifies, the exceptional quality of what happens inside the café each morning.
